Dinorwic Quarry

Date: Wednesday 29th June 2022.

Time: 18:00hrs.

Meet: Car park at Bus Stop Quarry, Dinorwig (OS Grid ref: SH 590 610).

Bring: Camera gear, boots/suitable footwear, waterproofs if showery, a drink & midge repellent.

Suggested route: If late, walk down the lane past Dinorwig Cottages & the Blue Perris Centre, then on to the Slate Museum path, turn left through the old barracks, onwards (past views of Dolbadarn Castle), across the slate bridge & along the track above the Rainbow slab (overlooking First Hydro & Trango Tower) and then back, (steep path) up to join the main track through the quarry (by Dali’s hole). Turn left passing the View Point & continue to the car park at “Bus Stop Quarry”.

Hazards: Lose rocky paths, sharp slate edges, unfenced quarry faces.

Time required: at least 2hrs.
